The Needles.Gentle & Intermediate Isle of Wight 18-22 Oct
A fabulous 4 days on the Isle of Wight with sun on 3 days, exciting stormy weather on the other day, and a lovely stay at Sandpipers Hotel despite it having gone into receivership.

Indian summer weather for this Cotswolds w/e staying at the Cleeve Hill Hotel on Cleeve Hill. We had some fabulous walks - and gloried in the sunshine and the warmth!


Walking to Malham Cove to see the falcons.Gentle & Intermediate Malham 21-25 Aug
We had an amazing 4 days staying at lovely High Trenhouse - without a drop of rain! High Trenhouse hospitality was as excellent as ever.




Walking on the South Downs.Low Intermediate South Downs w/e 8-10 Aug
A weekend with Barbara B on the South Downs - and they had fine weather most of the time! Ancient Yews of Kingley Vale, views from the Downs, Bosham and birds on the salt flats...





Low Intermediate Dovedale w/e 15-17 Aug
A lovely dry w/e enjoying walks in and near Dovedale in Derbyshire with Jo M. This w/e break was based at 4* Hartington Hall youth hostel - a beautiful converted mansion set in its own grounds.


Looking back to Grasmere from the way up Fairfield.High Level Grasmere 2-6 Aug
Some great walking from Grasmere with Anita, on Helm Crag, Fairfield, and Helvellyn - some of it in glorious sunshine. Anita corrupted the group with card games in the evening!


Soaking in the view beside Derwentwater.Gentle Derwentwater 1-5 Aug
4 wonderful days with Sally exploring the beautiful gentle walks around Derwentwater, from lake shore paths to Watendlath, and Castlerigg Stone Circle. The weather ranged from heavy showers to glorious sunshine and blue skies... and they even went to the Theatre by the Lake on one night!

The River Wye.Low Intermediate Wye Valley 31 Jul-4 Aug
Despite the horrendous summer, here is another holiday that experienced very little rain, or it stopped when the group headed out to explore the beautiful Wye Valley with Caroline!

The first WW Shropshire holiday - and about time too! The accommodation at Mynd House proved excellent by all accounts, and Jo designed some wonderful walks with extensive 360 degree views...


Walking in the dunes near Pirou.Gentle Normandy 11-17 July
We had wonderful sunny weather for this Gentle holiday in Normandy, staying at lovely Chateau Bellenau near Carentan. Justine and Mick looked after us very well, and Justine's cooking was as delicious as ever!


Cromwell House Hotel.Low Intermediate Lulworth Cove 4-7 July
Some lovely weather and views apart from one wet day - and even then it brightened in the afternoon for fab views of Durdle Door! Everyone seems to have had a lovely time.

A very successful holiday with Marcelle to the Bohemian Paradise region of the Czech Republic, followed by 2 nights in Prague allowing them to see the sights of this amazing Medieval city.

Grasmere.Intermediate Grasmere 27-30 June
A much smaller group than usual for this Grasmere break, and the weather was very variable - but they still had a great deal of fun together exploring Sally's favourite Grasmere walks.

A fabulous holiday in Slovenia which was experiencing a bit of a heat wave after 3 weeks of rain! We sought shade where we could, and built in swimming opportunities - and all survived!

Gentle Norfolk Coast Path 19-24 June
The first WW holiday to stay in Cley-next-the-Sea in Norfolk, enjoying fine sections of the gentle Norfolk Coast path with lots of flowers and birds to see in the salt marshes and nature reserves...


Ullswater through the trees.Gentle Patterdale 13-16 June
A wonderful gentle break with Pam in Patterdale - with fine weather to boot. They stayed at the White Lion Inn in Patterdale village, and walked the Ullswater shore path on one day...


High Level Atlas Mountains 6-15 June
This group enjoyed the incredible scenery of the High Atlas mountains of Morocco, trekking to Jebel Mgoun with Fran.


Pembrokeshire CP Part 2, 24-29 May
On this holiday with Marian they walked from Dale to St Davids along the coast, and had fabulous views and walks despite slightly less that fabulous weather!



Walking beside Malham Tarn - day 1.Gentle & Intermediate Malham 24-28 May
A great holiday by all accounts with Anita and new guide Helen. The weather was mixed with quite a cold wind for much of the time, but they had some fabulous walks and views - and a great deal of laughter!


Setting off from Edale.Intermediate Peak District 24-28 May
Spring Bank holiday in the Peaks started fine but windy, and finished with wet weather. However had a great time walking with Yvonne - and probably ate too many Losehill Hall delicious desserts...!





Bonfire outside Guirdil bothyHigh Level Rum 17-23 May
Fab weather for this high level holiday on Rum with Fran - which included two nights based at Guirdil bothy beside the sea. They had some wonderful walks with views across the sea to the Skye Cullin ridge.


Gentle Wye Valley 16-19 May
A beautiful time to be walking in the Wye Valley. This holiday with Jo was conveniently based at the Abbey Hotel near Tintern Abbey.



Low Intermediate South Downs w/e 16-18 May
A weekend with Lorraine based at East Ashling. Walks included the ancient yew forest in Kingley Vale, far reaching views from the top of the Downs, and a last, flatter day near Bosham harbour...

A weekend break based in the Newlands Valley of the northern Lake District with Marcelle. They had one wet day, then an absolutely stunning, good visibility day on the tops....


Long Distance West Highland Way 9-17 May
Fantastic weather for this year's spring WHW - wall to wall sunshine pretty much every day. Everyone had a great time... Guided by Sue M.

A short break with wonderful weather on the south coast of Kent, staying with Barbara B at Worth village near Sandwich for some delightful walks and visits in the area.

Arriving back to Lulworth Cove - day 2.Low Int Lulworth Cove 9-11 May
This Lulworth Cove w/e was summed up by Barbara as 'Ice cream, bluebells and laughter' - they had a lovely time exploring favourite walks on this stunning section of the Dorset coast.


Looking back to Agia Roumeli.Intermediate Crete 2, 13-20 May
The 2nd Crete week was this time guided by Marian. The weather was stunning, and despite the a petrol tanker drivers strike, they managed to get petrol before the situation could restrict the walks.


Walking along the coast path to Lutro.Intermediate Crete 1, 6-13 May
A wonderful week in Crete despite some unsettled weather! Coastal walks, gorges including famous Samaria, lovely group, lots of birds spotted, beautiful early summer flowers...



Low Intermediate Mull 1, 3-10 May
Fabulous weather for this popular holiday on Mull with Fran - and they saw plenty of wildlife, including puffins.







On Simonside.Low Intermediate Coquetdale 2-6 May
Beautiful and varied Northumberland walks with Pam, staying at Rothbury in the Cheviot valley of Coquetdale. The views from Simonside were exceptional.

Anita had taken over last minute from Lorraine last minute as guide for this holiday. They had only one, partially wet day, and never lost the views - which were absolutely inspirational on the last day...

They had wet weather but still had a great time, walking with Sara B and Marcelle in Grasmere and Elterwater.

Another hugely successful trek around the Canary island of La Gomera with Marian - the flowers and views were as superb as ever...

Last minute guide illness didn't prevent this April weekend in the Lakes from floundering. Sue B and Ali came to the rescue, while Sara B was the valient mainstay thoughout!


Avocet - day one in Minsmere.Gentle Suffolk 17-20 April
This first holiday with Madeline in Suffolk was a great success. They loved the Ship Inn and the walks, and saw Godwits, Avocets, Marsh Harriers, Dartford Warblers, Bearded tits, and heard a Bittern - an even rarer bird...

The weather varied hugely over this 3-night Lulworth break with Barbara along the Dorset coast - from rain and wind, to mist, and finally to sun!


Reaching the abbey of Saint Fromond.Gentle Normandy 1, 11-17 April
A lovely relaxed holiday just across the channel, staying in a wonderful excentric small chateau where Justine cooked us delicious meals... and we had superb weather for our stay!

Spring in Pembrokeshire with Polly was glorious, with wonderful stretches of the Pems Coast Path each day. The weather ranged from snow to glorious sunshine - and even encouraged a paddling break...!

Despite a cancelled outgoing ferry due to rough weather, we had a brilliant holiday. We saw the sun everyday, the walks were stunning, and the spring flowers were coming out... Definitely to be repeated next year!

The first holiday of this grade - gentler than the normal Gentle grade, with virtually no gradient, no stiles, and 3-4 mile walks.... based at Losehill Hall in Derbyshire.


Low Int South Downs 21-24 March
Mixed weather for Lorraine's South Downs w/e - from rain to beautiful sunshine, with walks on the Downs, through unique Kingley Vale, and beside the estuary and through the wetlands near Bosham...

What a mix of weather the Lakes experienced this early Easter - from sunshine to snow of some depth. Fabulous walks - though sometimes the conditions curtailed the amount of ascent.


Skiing on the last day above Courchevel 1850m.Skiing La Tania 3, 16-23 March
This week definitely had the most snow of all the La Tania weeks this year - in one 24 hour period, 50cm fell! They had a great time with Madeline and Fran, and some wonderful skiing, especially when the sun came out...

Heidi and Angie ran this holiday very successfully despite very wet weather on day 2. The sun came out on day 3 and by then the waterfalls were impressive.

A wonderful few days with Sue B along the first half of the Cleveland Way across the North York Moors. This trip was proof that it didn't rain all summer!

Stunning weather for this repeat of the Dale Fort to St Davids stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with Marian - will be called 'Part 2' in 2008.

Short but sweet - 3 days walking from Glenthorne in Grasmere. We had a lot of fun and repeatedly much better weather than was forecast!

On Simonside.Low Intermediate Coquetdale 16-20 June
The first group to enjoy this new 2007 destination had a lovely time with Marcelle exploring Simonside, Garleigh Moor, Holystone and other great low intermediate walks around Rothbury in Northumberland.

A high level weekend in the Lake District with Sara based at ever popular Glenthorne G/H - tackling Helvellyn in the mists, followed by a great romp along the Helm Crag ridge...


2nd night camp.High Alpine Atlas Mountains, Morocco 9-17 June
A fabulous trip that surpassed all our expectations, consisting of a tough trek to over 4000m giving us the incredible and varied scenery of the High Atlas Mountains. Brilliant female Berber guide and helpful muleteers, a total cultural experience!

Deeply satisfying but tough with lots of ups and downs, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs along one of the most beautiful stretches of Britains coast. This holiday covered the section from Dale Head to St Davids....





On Moel Hebog - day 2.High Level Snowdonia 26-30 May
First stay at Trigonos Centre in the beautiful Nantlle Valley was a great success - fabulous high lesser-known walks with some scrambles proved deeply rewarding.

Also based at Glenthorne over half term - a short break with a choice of Intermediate or Slow High walks each day. They explored the Grasmere and Langdale fells from little Loughrigg to fabulous Fairfield...

A lovely gentle break with Sara in Grasmere, through woods, meadows, beside lakes and streams, and even gently up to some good viewpoints!



Walking on the cliffs below Bloodstone Hill.High Level Rum 1, 19-25 May
This was the first of two high level holidays on Rum this year - and so far the weather has been kind, the walking excellent with superb views, and the 2 nights spent in a bothy on the beach was very special...

Despite rain entering delaying the trip to the Samaria Gorge - Marian juggled the days around, and included a trip to Minoan palace of Phaistos (in the rain!) on the day off... The rain didn't seem to dampen spirits at all!

A highly successful trip with Sue M along Scotland's glorious West Highland Way - good weather overall, beautiful scenery, and a very happy group enjoying it all!

We had a wonderful week exploring the south west coast of Crete - with stunning views and lovely dips in the sea, beautiful gorges and coast paths to walk, laughter a-plenty, and a great group to share it all with!

We reinstated the Intermediate Snowdonia Trek again this year and it was a great success - a wonderful and rewarding introduction to walking in Snowdonia!






Red Tarn  from Helvellyn.Intermediate & Slow High Patterdale 4-7 May
Stunning weather and views for part of this w/e - on Striding Edge and Helvellyn, or Place Fell. After that, not even the wetter weather that followed could dampen their spirits!


Sitting on White Moss Common - day 1.Gentle Grasmere 4-7 May
Heather and Polly ran this double group Gentle holiday based at Glenthorne in Grasmere - and they had plenty of fine weather (most of the time), and bluebells everywhere!

An excellent trek from Borrowdale to Wasdale with Sue P, spending 3 nights in Wasdale to allow a day on Pillar and Scafell Pike. The weather stayed mostly dry, except for rain, hail and stong winds on Scafell Pike - Sods law!

The first WW weekend in the Cotswolds enjoyed lovely spring weather and some great walks, based at the comfortable and very friendly Cleeve Hill Hotel on Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham.

Another very successful La Gomera trip with Marian - stunning scenery, mountains and sea, lots of flowers of all kinds, and perfect weather...

Great intermediate walks with Sally in the Peak District staying at comfortable Losehill Hall near Castleton - hazy at times, but no rain at all!


Intermediate Andalucia 7-14 April
Wonderful walks based at very comfortable Finca el Cerrillo in Andalucia, with Sue B; only the misty weather let them down. (Next year's spring Andalucian holiday will be in Feb...)

Another very comfortable stay at High Trenhouse near Malham Tarn in the Yorkshire Dales, this time with Heidi and Yvonne. What's more the weather stayed fine even if it was not always sunny!

A fabulous week of sunshine after relatively recent dumps of snow - this was a great second week of skiing in the Trois Vallees, including two trips over to Meribel and Val Thorens...

The weather stayed fine for this lovely gentle holiday at Losehill Hall with Heidi. Pretty walks, even some gentle 'ups' for striking views, peaceful villages, and even cream tea in Edale!

Mostly lovely winter sunshine during this gentle break with Jo in Wharfedale. They had a great time - and even went out to a pantomime one evening...!


Walking down into Edale.Intermediate Peak District 10-14 Feb
Mixed weather in the Peaks, with snow remaining on the tops from the big snowfall of early Feb. However there was always the warmth and comfort of Losehill Hall to return to after walking... and sumptuous puddings too!



Descending past Castle Crag.Int & High Int Borrowdale 10-14 Feb
One of the first holidays of the year - based at friendly Glaramara Centre in the beautiful Lake District valley of Borrowdale. Misty weather and snowy tops, a warm fire, lots of laughs, and glorious sunshine to finish...!
